How can I check my FTP client's log?

Checking your FTP client's log helps diagnose connectivity and transfer issues by showing every command sent and the server's response.

Checking your FTP client's log helps diagnose connectivity and transfer issues by showing every command sent and the server's response. The steps below cover the two most commonly used FTP clients.

FileZilla

  1. In the menu bar, click View then Message Log. The log panel appears in the upper half of the screen.
  2. Scroll to the relevant section of the log.
  3. Right-click anywhere in the log panel and choose Copy to clipboard.
  4. Paste the log into a helpdesk ticket so the Kualo support team can analyse it.

Cyberduck

  1. Click the View menu and select Toggle Log Drawer. A log panel opens at the bottom of the application.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect your FTP session so that the connection activity is recorded in the panel.
  3. Copy the log contents and paste them into a helpdesk ticket if you need further assistance.

If you are unsure which error to look for, share the full log with Kualo support - the raw command and response history usually pinpoints the problem quickly.
