How to save a draft message in RoundCube

Save a half-written email as a draft in RoundCube webmail and come back to finish it later.

1 min read Updated 11 Jun 2026

If you are partway through writing an email and need to come back to it later, RoundCube lets you save it as a draft.

Save a draft

  1. While composing your message, click Save in the compose toolbar. RoundCube stores the message in your Drafts folder without sending it.
  2. You can safely close the message - your work is kept.

Finish a draft later

  1. Click the Drafts folder in the folder list.

  2. Click the draft to reopen it, finish writing, and click Send when you are ready.

RoundCube also saves drafts automatically as you type, so you are unlikely to lose a long message even if you forget to save it by hand.
