Getting Started with Zimbra Enterprise Email

A quick-start guide to connecting to your Kualo Zimbra Enterprise Email account across webmail, desktop clients, and mobile.

2 min read Updated 4 Jun 2026

This guide introduces the basics of connecting to your Zimbra Enterprise Email service with Kualo, whether you prefer webmail, a desktop client, or a mobile device.

Accessing via webmail

The quickest way to check your email is through webmail - all you need is a browser and an internet connection. Log in with the email address and password from your welcome email.

Version URL Best for
Advanced https://webmail.kualo.com Modern computers on a fast connection
Lite https://webmail.kualo.com/h Slower computers or connections
Mobile https://webmail.kualo.com/m Small screens and mobile browsers

Setting up desktop clients - email only (Standard plan)

If you are on the Professional plan or higher, skip to the Exchange section below.

For email-only access, we recommend IMAP rather than POP3. With IMAP, all email is stored centrally on the server, so any change you make on one device - reading, deleting, moving - is reflected everywhere else automatically.

Use the following settings in your mail client:

Setting Value
Incoming (IMAP) server webmail.kualo.com
IMAP port 993
IMAP security SSL (required)
Outgoing (SMTP) server smtp.protectedservice.net
SMTP port 587
SMTP authentication Required
Username Your full email address
Password Your email account password

Setting up desktop clients - Exchange support (Professional plan and higher)

If you are on the Professional plan or higher, your account includes full Exchange interoperability. Add the account in your mail client as an Exchange account using the details below:

Setting Value
Exchange server webmail.kualo.com
Username Your full email address
Password Your email account password

For step-by-step instructions in Outlook, see Setting up a Zimbra Exchange email address in Microsoft Outlook.

CalDAV and CardDAV (contacts and calendar sync)

If you want to synchronise your contacts and calendar without using Exchange, you can use CalDAV and CardDAV - open standards supported by most modern mail and calendar apps, including Mozilla Thunderbird.

Use the following server addresses:

Protocol Server address
CardDAV webmail.kualo.com:443
CalDAV https://webmail.kualo.com/dav/Username/CalendarName

Replace Username with your email address username and CalendarName with the name of the calendar you want to synchronise.

Most modern desktop and mobile clients support CalDAV and CardDAV natively. Check your client's account settings before installing any third-party plugin.
