Delete a template

Permanently remove templates you no longer need to keep your library tidy.

1 min read Updated 10 Jun 2026

Deleting templates you no longer need keeps your library tidy and your designs easy to find - useful for clearing out test versions, old seasonal designs, or duplicates. This guide covers how.

Delete a template

  1. Select Campaigns, then Email Templates - or go to Resources, then My templates.
  2. Select the template you want to remove and click Delete.
  3. Type the word DELETE in capitals in the field.
  4. Confirm.

Deleting a template is permanent and can't be undone. If you might want it again, back up its HTML first. Deleting a template doesn't affect campaigns you've already sent with it.

Troubleshooting

You typed DELETE but nothing happens - it must be in capitals with no extra spaces, and you need to click confirm afterwards. A different browser can help.

You deleted the wrong template - deletion can't be undone, so restore from a backup if you have one, or duplicate a similar template and adapt it.

Can't find the template - check you're in the right account, look across all categories and filters, and check both My Templates and any shared templates.

To create templates in the first place, see Save a campaign as a template. Stuck? Open a support ticket.
