Create email preheaders with AI

Generate preview text that complements your subject line and nudges people to open.

1 min read Updated 10 Jun 2026

The AI preheader generator writes preview text that complements your subject line and nudges people to open. The preheader is the "second subject line" that shows after the subject in most inboxes, and it's often wasted - this puts it to work. This guide covers generating one.

Generate a preheader

  1. Create a campaign and design your email content - the AI works from it.
  2. Click Settings, and find Metadata, then Email details.
  3. Click the magic wand to generate ideas. Reload for alternatives, and choose a tone.
  4. Keep it short - under about 130 characters - and complementary to your subject line.
  5. Save the one you want, and test your campaign so the preheader appears correctly.

Best practices

  • Try a few before choosing.
  • Customise to your brand voice.
  • Consider your audience and the tone that suits them.
  • A/B test AI-generated against your own.

Troubleshooting

No suggestions appear - your email needs enough text for the AI to work from; check you're at the right step and that AI is enabled on your plan.

They don't match your content - make your content's key message and headlines clearer, then regenerate for fresh options.
