How to change the IP address of my nameservers
If Kualo moves you to a new IP range, here is how to update your private nameserver IP addresses at your domain registrar.
If Kualo needs to migrate you to a new IP range, and your domains use a private nameserver (for example, ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com), you will need to update those nameserver records at your domain registrar with the new IP addresses we provide.
What you need to update
- You only need to update the nameserver IPs on your master domain - the domain the nameservers are named after.
- You do not need to make any changes to other domain names that are simply pointed at those nameservers.
How to update your nameserver IPs
The process varies between registrars, so you will need to log in to your registrar's control panel and follow their specific instructions. Look for a section called nameservers, private nameservers, or glue records - different registrars use different terminology for the same thing.
Some registrars refer to private nameserver IP entries as "glue records". If you cannot find a nameserver IP setting, try searching for glue records in your registrar's help documentation.
If Kualo registered your master domain
If we registered your master domain name on your behalf, you do not need to do this yourself. Simply open a support ticket and provide us with your new nameserver IP addresses, and we will make the necessary changes for you.
