# How to change Softaculous settings and email settings

Softaculous lets you customise your preferred language, timezone, and email notifications for script installations and removals. Here is how to update both areas.

## Changing general settings

1. Log in to cPanel and open Softaculous.
2. Click the **Edit Settings** icon in the top navigation bar.

3. Select your preferred language from the language dropdown.

4. Set your timezone using the timezone selector.

5. When you are done, click **Edit Settings** to save your changes.

## Changing email settings

1. Click the **mail** icon in the Softaculous navigation bar.

2. Update the email address where Softaculous notifications will be sent.

3. Use the checkboxes on this page to control when emails are sent:
   - **Send installation details** - sends an email containing setup information each time a script is installed.
   - **Send removal notification** - sends an email when a script is removed.
4. Click **Edit Email Settings** to save.
