# Setting up a Zimbra Exchange email address in Windows Mail

This article explains how to connect a Zimbra email account to the Windows Mail app using Exchange ActiveSync. This is separate from setting up Zimbra in [Microsoft Outlook](/knowledgebase/zimbra-email-configuration/setting-up-a-zimbra-exchange-email-address-in-microsoft-outlook-2016).

This guide is for Exchange Compatible accounts, which are available on the Professional plan and higher.

Before you start, make sure you have:

- Your email address
- Your email address password

## Adding the account

1. Open the Windows Mail app, then click **Accounts** > **Add Account**.

2. Select **Advanced Setup**.

3. Select **Exchange ActiveSync**.

4. Fill in your details. Set the **Mail server** field to `webmail.kualo.com`, then click **Sign in**.

5. You should see a success message confirming the account has been added.
