# How to search for messages in RoundCube

RoundCube includes a built-in search that lets you find messages quickly across any folder in your mailbox.

## Search for a message

1. Click in the **Search** box at the top of the message list and type what you are looking for.

2. To narrow the search, click the options arrow in the search box. You can choose **which part** of a message to search (Subject, Sender, Recipient, Body, or the entire message) and **where** to search (the current folder, or all folders).
3. Press **Enter** to run the search. The message list then shows only the matching messages.

To clear the search and return to your full message list, click the **X** in the search box.
