This guide walks you through adding a secure IMAP email account to the built-in Email app on an Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or 4.4 (KitKat) tablet.

## Before you start

You will need your incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server names. To find them, log in to cPanel, go to **Email Accounts**, click **Manage** next to your address, then scroll down to **Mail Client Manual Settings** and note the values under **Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended)**.

## Steps

1. Tap the **App Drawer** on your home screen.

5. Configure your incoming server settings. Your username and password should already be filled in. Complete the remaining fields as follows:

   | Setting | Value |
   |---|---|
   | IMAP server | Your incoming server from cPanel (see above) |
   | Security type | SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates) |

   | Setting | Value |
   |---|---|
   | SMTP server | Same hostname as your IMAP server |
   | Security type | SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates) |
   | Port | 465 |
   | Require sign-in | Ticked |

:::tip
If you have trouble connecting, double-check the server hostname in cPanel. Using your domain name as the server address will only work if a valid SSL certificate covers it; the hostname shown in cPanel is always safe to use.
