You can request a cPanel username change, but it has several knock-on effects - read the points below before raising a ticket.

## What changes when you rename your cPanel username

- Your cPanel login details will change, so anyone in your organisation who uses them will need to be updated.
- All databases tied to your account will be renamed, so any local or external applications that connect to those databases will need their connection strings updated.
- If you are a reseller requesting a change to your master reseller account username, we will need to recreate your reseller account and reconfigure your WHM access rights. Your client accounts will also need to be reassigned to the new account, so this process can take some time.

## How to request the change

Raise a support ticket via [my.kualo.com](https://my.kualo.com) and include:

- Your server name
- Your current username
- The username you would like to change to

If you are a reseller, please say so in the ticket and confirm that you understand your master reseller account permissions will be reset and your client accounts reassigned.

:::warning
Update any database connection strings in your applications before or immediately after the change takes effect, or your sites may go offline.
