Dedicated Servers

Our dedicated servers are built with highly reliable hardware and are located in one of our state-of-the-art hosting facilities, backed with first class service from our support team whenever you need us.

Choose from one of the base specifications below, you can add extra RAM, hard drives and various other features duing the customisation stage.

Max CPU

1 x Core 2 Duo 1 x Quad Core Xeon 2 x Quad Core Xeon
The top-end CPU that can be installed into your server. The CPU is the "brain" of the server, in general the faster the CPU and more cores it has, the higher the processing power of the server.

Max Memory

4GB DDR2 8GB DDR2 32GB DDR2
The maximum amount of RAM which can be added to your server. RAM provides space for your server to read and write data to be accessed by the CPU. The more RAM you have available, the less your server will need to read data from your hard drive. This will usually allow your server to operate faster as RAM is many times faster than a hard drive.

Max Storage

2 x 1.5TB SATA 2 x 1.5TB SATA 4 x 1.5TB SATA
The maximum number and size of hard drives that can be added to your server. If you need more than four drives we would be happy to provide you with a custom quotation, just get in touch with our sales team.

RAID Protection

0, 1 0, 1 (h/w) 0, 1, 5, 6 (h/w)
RAID, which stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks, means that data can be divided and replicated across multiple hard drives. There are various designs of RAID each given an identifying number; all have the goal of increasing data reliability or increased performance. Disks using RAID are said to be in a RAID array, and are seen by the server as one single disk.

In the above table, where you see (h/w) it means that it is possible to install a separate hardware RAID controller and optional battery backup unit, which will provide a faster throughput of data than the on-board RAID controller that comes as standard with the server.

The optional battery backup unit maintains any data in memory that is yet to be written to the disks in the event of a hard crash or server reboot - this data will be flushed out to the disks during reboot cycle and will help to prevent data loss or corruption.
